words words words

This was probably the most annoying part of the move, scraping all these words off the fridge.

I was a huge fan of magnetic poetry when I was in college and I bought or was given a fair amount of them. I kept playing with them and they were a fun kind of inspiration when I wanted something to scribble about. Then I moved to Seattle, then I moved to the last apartment where I put them on the fridge there and then more or less forgot about them. To the extent that I had to be reminded to remove them two or three times.

"Did you take the magnets off?"

"What? OH!!!"

I spent a frustrating twenty minutes scraping off the words, muttering and cursing the entire time. I finally figured I could hand them over to El Diablo for their ongoing collection and just be done with them.

Then I brought them upstairs and then the light hit them just right and, well, wouldn't you know it but they were interesting again.

No, really, I'll get rid of them.
