The Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club has installed (real-working) 1/3-sized replicas of vintage lighthouses at key places around Lake Havasu, in Arizona and California.

We found this lighthouse replica 15 miles south of Lake Havasu City, on the lake, at Havasu Springs Marina. The office manager graciously gave us directions through the rv park, to the spot of coastline where the lighthouse stood. We scrambled up and down steep hills of loose volcanic rock, but eventually found it! From this vantage point, we spotted yet another replica lighthouse across the lake, which the manager told us is only accessible by boat! Maybe another time...

The real Sandy Hook Lighthouse stands2.4km from Sandy Hook, New Jersey. It was built in 1764, and guided in mariners from the southern end of New York Harbor. It is the oldest original lighthouse in the USA.
