Improving Livelihoods in Marginal Drylands
Roughly 1.5 billion people – a quarter of the world’s population – depend directly on land that is being degraded. In dry areas, desertification is on the rise leading to loss in productivity. Yet millions of families across Africa and Asia rely on farming for sustenance. These areas are also hot spots for climate change.

A combination of indigenous knowledge, science solutions and value addition can help improve livelihoods and build resilience for these communities.
