Smith Detective Agency Dallas, Texas

    Newer Older

Old security sign. It's pretty old by the phone number style and the verbiage.
Smith Detective was established in 1903, can't read it on the sign though. You can go here to read about their services and their history. Started by a Dallas law man in 1903.

Security must be good; nobody's nicked the sign.

Hmm, you know they're serious because they advertise Radio Control.

Terry, there is just so much about this that makes it fabulous!

Colors, texture, rust, crust, processing......well I guess that's only five things. But that's enough!

Hope you don't mind the suggestion, but it would be great here:

We are still around. I'm the IT Director for Smith Protective. The company is now run by the founder George Smith's grandsons. Here is some history on the company.

Thanks! I work for them in accounting. Neat to see one of the old signs. Do you know on what building it was?

It's somewhere near the American Beauty Lofts in an alley. If I run across it again I'll get you the location. I've seen it a couple of times just looking for a photo.

      Thanks Terry ... Awesome!
Yes, please -- if you find it again! I think grandpa, Andrew Smith Sr., himself designed that particular sign. Very special ... much appreciated.
