30 sec @ f/13, 12mm, ISO100

Filter: B+W ND 3.0 1000X 110 (10 stop neutral density filter).

Location: Zoutkamp - in the province of Groningen - the Netherlands.

The fishing-village Zoutkamp is established at the place where the rivers Lauwers, Reitdiep and Hunze meet and flow into the sea. In 1575 they founded an entrenchment, which was named Soltcamp. That is where the name Zoutkamp comes from.

Zoutkamp is a picturesque village, built around the entrenchment and the port. In 1600 the inhabitants were mainly soldiers, shrimp-, plaice- and scallop-fishers, smugglers, salt-makers and cheapjacks. Zoutkamp has lost a lot of his fishing-activities to Lauwersoog. At the moment Zoutkamp is still the home-port of the traditional sailers and the Bruine Vloot. The locks of Zoutkamp are a unique monument. These locks are built in 1877 and consist of a lift-lock with six heavy doors.

This photograph was taken behind these locks.

Post-processing info:

2 different textures were used with fine details. Edges and other details were treated with the Smudge tool with special Smudge brushes at different sizes and strengths after using the Diffuse > Anisotropic filter found - filter > stylize menu. If you'd like to archive fine smooth and sharp details, you have to over-sharpen the image before using the Anisotropic filter and get rid of sharpening artifacts with the smudge tool. Good luck!.

Oh, and the two pigeons were there too, but were shot separately with f/4 @ 1/160 sec. and placed back into the composition with a layer mask.

Really wishing you all a wonderful weekend~~!
