The Goodwood Revival 2012 promised a sensational treat for classic car fans: 75 years after their UK debut, the legendary pre-war "Silver Arrows" of Mercedes-Benz, as well as the racing cars of German automotive group Auto Union AG, also silver, battled it out on the race track. Also featured were many of the other cars that raced – usually unsuccessfully – against the silver German machines in the 1930s: ERAs, Maseratis, Rileys, Bugattis, and MGs, to name a few.
