92 - Arvind Narrain - #CMTRUST
by cmbengaluru
Our theme for July is TRUST. It was chosen by our Islamabad chapter and illustrated by Ibrahim Nasir. When we trust each other, we feel safe to share ideas, give feedback, and take risks. It requires vulnerability and a willingness to be open to the possibility of disappointment or betrayal. So, trust is not purely belief or faith. It is an active choice. Trust is a gift. It must be given before it can be earned.
Arvind Narrain is a Lawyer and Writer on human right issues. He is the author of India’s Undeclared Emergency: Constitutionalism and the Politics of Resistance and the co-editor of Law Like Love: Queer perspectives on law. He was also a part of the team of lawyers challenging Section 377 of the IPC right from the High Court in 2009 to the Supreme Court in 2018.
Arvind’s focus for the CreativeMornings talk will be on ‘trust building as a society’ through various lenses. As a board member of RBANM’s Educational Charities, he will talk about its 150-year legacy as a philanthropic initiative. He will also share about his work and research in relation to Ambedkarite jurisprudence, Totalitarianism and Alternative Law Forum (ALF) of which he is a founder member.
