The first new lens I got was little more than a kit lens with a cheap motor. I took it back and bought a Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 instead (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-28mm-f-1.8-USM-Lens-Review.aspx). This sucker is FAST!
