Watching Me, Watching you
Fresh edit of this Lioness at Kruger in South Africa that I shot back in 2011 with my D70s and 70-300 f/4.5-5.6. How I'd love to go back now that I have my newer equipment.
It was taken just as the sun came up and she was sitting on top of a mound making her eye level with me. You can just make out some blood under her right ear and around her nose. She was on her way to recovering her cubs that she had hidden whilst out hunting.
It's often said that wildlife photos need the eyes, but in this case, the half open eyes tells me that she's a tired girl after a long night which is why I love this photo.
