AFTERNOON TEA

    Newer Older

In front of our living room window we have a huge hedge of wild roses which I just love, love, love, especially as at the moment, they are the only roses we have in the garden.

The bird feeders are also here so the hedge has become the Peyton Place of Castlerock as I SWEAR we now feed 90% of the birds in the village!

Because my stupid body is still rebelling when I potter around the house, I was having a lie down on the couch watching the birdies.

Out of no-where the hedge was suddenly lit up by late afternoon sunshine so I had to whip the camera out and photograph it.

Only when I was processing, did I notice the hoardes of aphids and not a single ladybird around.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen any bees or butterflies either and I can only put it down to the fact that it is so darn cold still.

Lovely. Bring on the ladybirds for those aphids though. Such pests!
