This is a shot of the start of a gap sunrise. It was taken looking east from the east side of Capitol Reef National Park. I have only seen a few gap sunrises or sunsets and this is how they normally start, with an intense red glow on the horizon. What happens is that the sun is only coming through a small hole in the clouds and because of that, you see a much more intense red color. I also managed to fill up my memory card just after I took this and had to go running back to the truck to get another one. I was not a happy camper!
