Wise County Courthouse (Decatur, Texas)

Acadia Parish Courthouse (Crowley, Louisiana) Old Ada County Courthouse (Boise, Idaho) Adair County Courthouse (Greenfield, Iowa) Adair County Courthouse (Columbia, Kentucky) Adair County Courthouse (Kirksville, Missouri) Adair County Courthouse (Stilwell, Oklahoma) Old Adams County Courthouse (Brighton, Colorado) Old Adams County Courthouse (Council, Idaho) Adams County Courthouse (Quincy, Illinois) Adams County Courthouse (Corning, Iowa) Adams County Courthouse (Natchez, Mississippi) Adams County Courthouse (Hastings, Nebraska) Adams County Courthouse (Hettinger, North Dakota) Adams County Courthouse (Friendship, Wisconsin) Aitkin County Courthouse (Aitkin, Minnesota) Alachua County Courthouse (Gainesville, Florida) Alameda County Courthouse (Oakland, California) Alamosa County Courthouse (Alamosa, Colorado) Albany County Courthouse (Laramie, Wyoming) Alcorn County Courthouse (Corinth, Mississippi)

These are photographs of all of the county and parish courthouses that I have visited in the United States. Well, actually, in this set I have placed only one photograph for each county seat that I have visited. They are organized in alphabetical order based on the name of the county, and, in the cases for counties with the same names, the state, starting with the Acadia Parish Courthouse at Crowley, Louisiana and ending with the Ziebach County Courthouse in Dupree, South Dakota.

There are a total of 3,144 counties or county equivalents (such as parishes in Louisiana or boroughs in Alaska) in the United States, and I have so far visited 2,004 of them (2,034 county seats/equivalent county seats).

I hope that you enjoy this and other of my county courthouse sets. The map at the end of this set will show you which counties and parishes I have visited.

I am also a courthouselover. I really enjoy the victorian era (through the 1920ies) architecture. I recently started on my own odessey through my adopted state of texas to see and photograph all our wonderful standing history.

I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your pictures, both in quality and content!! thank you for sharing with the flickr world. I'm envious that you were able to travel to other areas of our country. It's sooo great to see other states courthouses as well. From the few (just started looking) that I've seen from Nebraska, it seems to be an architectually interesting state.

again many thanks for vicariously letting us travel through your eyes!
