Old Dallas County Courthouse (Dallas, Texas)

This Romanesque Revival castle was built in 1892 and was designed by Maximilian A. Orlopp and Kusener. Its grand tower was removed in 1909 and was rebuilt in 2005-7. The entire building was replaced by a modern courthouse across the street in 1966. Locals affectionately refer to the masterpiece as "Old Red," and it is today a museum devoted to Dallas history.

Dallas is the largest city in North Texas and the third largest city in the Lone Star State. Of the large cities that I have been to in the United States, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is one of my favorites.
