Magic Kingdom - Fireworks Friday!!

    Newer Older

I've been super pumped to make it to Friday this week. For the night we shot regular old Wishes, we decided at the suggestion of Bob Desmond to try shooting the show from right in front of the Crystal Palace. It was a great location that wasn't too crowded, and it led to some cool shots for me that you'll see down the road where the bursts only frame the left side of the castle due to the view. You might also see some blown highlights here, and that is because after talking to Bob about fireworks, we came to the conclusion that they need to pop and have some kick or they just get boring. They're explosions after all! So thanks Bob! Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!

Absolutely great shot. I'm of the mind that bright lights in real life should also be bright in a photograph, so I'm all for the change of heart.

Brilliant, Cory . That's a great POV for the fireworks, and you did a spectacular job with that shot. Looking forward to seeing other shots from your trip!

Damn I wish I was there. Great shot and also the thinking about the highlights. It's a brilliant point.

Beautiful! Believe it or not, I think the moving smoke is almost as eye-catching as the fireworks. The castle is so shimmery and clear!

Had such a fun time that night too. Great location too. You really captured some wide dynamic range. I like the smoke and other dark details.

      Spectacular is an understatement!
I've always thought that the view from right in front of the Crystal Palace is a great spot to view Wishes. That's where I wanted to set up with Susan the night before you arrived but it was so crowded that every inch of space was taken.

This shot is amazing...I love the exposure on the foreground elements. It is nice to see trees with fireworks other than in silhouette...the smoke is cool!
