Television Centre
December 2012 - I've read my last news bulletins from Television Centre. Next time I sit down to deliver the Six O'Clock News on Radio 4 - or the Midnight, or the bulletins in the Today programme or the summaries on the hour it will be from New Broadcasting House in Central London.

Radio 4 News and the news sequence programmes on the network moved from Old Broadcasting house to TVC in 1998 but now we're going home. I'm glad I did have these years working in this extraordinary building. It oozes nostalgia and is full of fabulous architectural gems. But it was always TELEVISION Centre and radio felt like a guest.

Update March 2013 - Feeling very nostalgic about TVC now. It was such a part of my childhood watching Blue Peter and Swap Shop. I remember being awestruck when I first walked through its doors as a Trainee Studio Manager in 1983. I've had many happy hours in its bar, voiced trails for BBC1 and 2 in a tiny shoebox studio and once, years ago, shared a kiss in Studio 8's Observation Gallery late at night. (If you're reading this, you know who you are : ) )

It is very, very sad that it is ceasing to be.

Farewell W12 8QT.

TVC - a few photographic memories.
