Flisk School and schoolhouse. Now a private dwelling - when I was about 10 years old I went to school here for about 18 months when we lived nearby at Fliskwood. The school was the small section to the left and the schoolmistress lived in the large section to the right. Her name was Elizabeth Armstrong and she was one of my Dad's older sisters. There were only 9 children at the school ranging from 5 to 12 years old. The Lib Dem councillor Andrew Arbuckle also went to school there some years before me - he wrote a book a couple of years back called Footsteps in the Furrow in which he talked lots about my aunty - none of it was complimentary at all :) I thought she was lovely , then again I may be biased :)
