The jungle is taking over.

    Newer Older

Since I visited Angkor Wat and all the other temples now for a second time after 2 years, I noticed, that some of the huge trees are dying and some temples collapsed in certain parts. A lot of work is done of course, but in some corners, it seems, the jungle will be the winner. Anybody noticed the same?

Beautiful photo! Have visited this temple a number of times, and they are currently doing restorations. To be honest I found Beng Mealea a bit further out of Siem Reap to be the most beautiful visited just because it hadn't been restored. The natural decay, and the way the jungle was reclaining it made it special.

Nice atmosphere. 1/3 dark and gloomy, 2/3 ethereal. Don´t like the sign, but what can you do about it?

I visited Angkor Wat (and Angkor Thom - www.flickr.com/photos/125756535@N08/14563126804/) a little while ago. It certainly seems like the jungle is winning.
