Ghost Doll

Photo taken from outside the pub at Niddry Street Vaults in Edinburgh before we went on the tour. Victims of the plague were kept in these vaults under the streets of Edinburgh, men women and children. Story goes that a Japanese medium went on the tour one day and she spoke to the ghost of a little girl who asked why her Mummy and Daddy had left her down here, they obviously had other children to look after and couldn't take the chance of them catching it too, the little girl was crying because her mum forgot to bring her doll when she abandoned her. The Japanese woman went out and bought a doll and placed it in the room where she saw the little girl. This is now a tradition people have followed and if you ever get the chance to visit you will see a room full of dolls that people have left. They go to a childrens charity.
