Engineer Kevin is notching up his pair of GP38-2s as job PF-10 departs Michigan City with 124 empty coal gons from NIPSCO's generating facility. A timely heads up afforded us this shot of the train as it rounds the curve just south of the power plant. These jobs almost always use the run-through UP power for the coal empties, so seeing a pair of South Shore Geeps on one of these trains is quite rare! To make things even better, 2001 and 2000 (trailing) are the final two GP38-2s that haven't been desecrated with PTC antennas all over their roofs. I've never had much luck with South Shore freight in the past, so this was an awesome catch!
