The New West Michigan Railroad
One of the most seldom shot rail operations in the state is the West Michigan RR, largely due to how infrequently they operate. Up until very recently the line was owned and operated by Pioneer Rail Corp. That changed this month with the sale of the line to Hamilton Hartford Group. The new owners of the railroad hope to grow and expand business on what remains of this former Pere Marquette branchline from Hartford to Paw Paw. The line's current motive power is GLLX SW1200 #1512 and their only active customer at the moment is Hanson's Logistics. The Pioneer equipment has yet to be shipped out, as evidence by West Michigan NW2u #100 being passed by #1512, hauling the new line's first revenue car east towards the switch where it will be spotted in front of the NW2 for unloading at Hanson's.
