Day 84/365 - Yohei Mishina

Yohei Mishina, he's awesome.
Yuri's, my homestay, had her brother come from Japan yesterday! He's so crazy and so cool! And as you can see...Very unique.
Yuri was embarrassed of him because he's not the ordinary brother..Or not what everyone wants to be. He went on his own path and is doing what he loves. He's a dancer and is constantly listening to hip hop. Everyone wants him to go to college and put his head in the books, and study study study. That's how it is in Japan, you have to study for your whole life to get passed the high school entrance exam and also the College Entrance exam. Life is basically centered around studying and success. It kind of sucks because all the fun in life usually comes in your pre-adult years, and their fun gets taken away from them because all the studying. Yohei is unique, he dresses different, he dances and loves to express himself. That's how I am, but in the US, it's accepted. But something that isn't accepted in the US that IS accepted in Japan is specific aspects of fashion. If I bought some clothes over Japan that the everyday Japanese person wore, and tried wearing that over here in Seattle, I would get stares, glares, and insults..Constantly. I hate that. In the U.S, people can't accept other people that are different from the mainstream. I love those capri pants that they wear in Japan..But again, people in the U.S would call me gay or criticize me. You can go to Japan and wear whatever the hell you want, and no one would give you crap about it. You can do ANYTHING, and no one would say anything. They are very soft spoken and live life how they want, for the most part. But yeah...I want to go back. I miss the fashion. I miss the people. I miss the culture, and the lifestyle. Ah!
