Craig Phadrig Forest Inverness Scotland

A lovely sunny afternoon - not warm though - just the time to take grandson on a prowl through the Craig Phadrig ("Patrick' Rock") hillside forest walk on the west side of Inverness. Craig Phadrig is reputely the site of the fort of King Brude, Leader of the Pictish Nation, who was converted to Christianity by St Columba - who made the frist reported sighting of the Loch Ness Monster on his way back 'home' to Iona.

We did not make it (this time) to the vitrified fort at the top of the hill as Grandson's little legs got tired - but as they say "we'll be back". Escpeially as I have regailed him with the various trips to the summit I made as a young lad myself (nort that was NOT in the 6th century, before certain of you Flckr folks enquire!!)
