A Bull headed Shrike (butcher-bird) made a display for me

Occasionally , I found butcher-bird preys , frogs and lizards impaled on twigs at the entrance door. The reason why Bull headed Shrikes make this kind of display is not known for sure. It may be a food reservation in autumn for winter survival.

Several years ago , I saw a butcher bird impaled a harvest mouse on a wire steer and ate a little at a time, suggesting twig/wire is used as a tableware.

This frog is about 2cm , very small for a butcher-bird and easy to eat at once, so this may be left for food reservation.
