Project 365 #153: 020619 Like The Murphy's...
...I'm not bitter.
I was delighted to see Liverpool win the Champion's League Final last night, even if the game was shite. Maybe both teams were a spent force after their incredible semi finals.
I resolved that I would go and applaud the team if they won, if only to honour the memory of my grandparents who would have gone if they were here, but little did I realise, in the fashion of Mr Bennett, how little inconvenience it would cause.
The parade went down West Derby Road, passing within 150 yards of my house, and the whole thing was streamed live on Youtube, so I could watch up until the point that they reached Tuebrook roundabout and then step outside.
That meant standing round for ten minutes rather than the four and a half hours(!) that some people were standing there for!
The team, unsurprisingly, looked very happy holding the cup at the front of the bus, but there is no question to whom the day belonged. Well played sir.
