Project 365 #311: 071109 The Things We Do For Charity

    Newer Older

I've been hoodwinked into going to a Charity Ball. Actually, it's for Marie Curie, which is a banging charity so I've got time for it.

The question is, how come that with all things in life they get easier with practice EXCEPT for tying bloody bow ties? Every time it's a fight, and this one is on attempt number FOUR!

Ah well, it will be hanging loose by midnight! :D

I always cheated and used the ready tied ones. Mind you mine were mainly plain black; yours with the stripes looks far more distinguished.

Never mind the struggle with the bow tie, holding the camera at arms length couldn't have been easy.

I quite like this striped one. It's actually a Liverpool University tie but it's sober enough to not look like an old school tie. Pre-tied ones always look better with a much sharper knot, but there's something very satisfying about undoing the bloody thing and looking at everybody else who can't!

The photos weren't too hard. I took six, and got one decent one. Maybe I touched lucky. :)
