Project 365 #298: 251009 Back To Normal!
Unlike many people, there's something about the dark nights that I like. I also love the fact that Britain is the guardian of world time and yet every summer we deviate from it by an hour.
I know the reasons, and accept them, and won't add to yards of print about people berating the whole farcical episode of time changing.
So whether you want to call it GMT, UTC, CUT, TUC, Z Time, Zulu Time, International Time or anything else, I like being back on it. :)
It seems that every year there are fewer and fewer clocks in the house that don't look after themselves automatically. Thanks to time signals being transmitted on phone networks (mobile and hard wired), RDS broadcasts, DAB broadcasts, UHF and DVB broadcasts, the MSF/NPL time signal (now broadcast from Cumbria not Rugby) and of course a host of NTP servers across the internet there's a horde of people all screaming the time at you.
But still, the cooker, my wristwatches and all of the beautiful clockwork timepieces that I have to hand need a bit of manual adjustment.
And you know what...I like that too. :)
