Project 365 #201: 200709 Stop Interfering!
Today Dave was doing some work reconfiguring the IP ranges on the network, and as he'd be working on servers all day we took the doors off the rack.
They're metal frames filled in with punched metal grilles. The two narrow doors were stacked against the wall with one in front of the other.
Being stacked even a small distance apart gives the optical impression that the holes in the back door are slightly smaller and closer spaced than the holes in the front door. This gives rise to this really weird interference pattern, as some of the holes align perfectly and some cross perfectly. As you move across the sheet the holes come in and out of phase so you start seeing clear patches. It's really odd to look at, and though it hasn't transferred well to camera it still made photo of the day. :)
