St. Denis, Bishop and Martyr
Feast Day on October 9
Saint Denis, or Dionysius, died on the year 258. He was the first bishop of Paris, and was martyred with the presbyter Eleutherius, and the deacon, Rusticus, on Monmantre [which means "mount of martyrs"]. Today, St. Denis is the patron of Paris and France.
Saint Denis, because he is my namesake, I choose to be my patron saint.
