      "Meat Loaf" is an American food. What makes this "Austrian"?

      The seasonings used in the meatloaf (lots of warm spices like allspice, etc), along with the gravy. It reminded me of German frikadellen (hamburgers). Meatloaf (i.e. meat served in loaf form) is not a purely American food, it's derived from many other European dishes such as turrines, roladen (the kind my Oma made was meatloaf mix, wrapped with hammered flank steak, wrapped with bacon), South Italian forms of braciole, etc.
