I'm growing up a little bit as a photographer. I knew the background would be distracting when I took the shot. I just wasn't sure what to do about it. Step one, recognize the problem. Step two, address it. Oh well, at least I'm to step one!
I intentionally left the people in this shot over at the far right. They probably had no idea they were in the shot. I was actually a heck of a lot closer to the art than it looks like here. The joy of fisheye lenses!
Also, this is another one shot HDR using faked bracketing from a single RAW exposure. The subject, sky, and architecture all seem to give me license to bump up the dynamic range at the expense of realism. Seems to work in this setting.
