As a gift to our wedding guests, we threw in 2 days of tours. Luck again was on our side, as in the first day of the tour, we chanced upon the spectacular Meped ceremony where women parade in the street balancing towers of fruit and food offerings on their head. The heavens were definitely smiling on us. In my 13 years or so in Bali, I never had the auspicious timing to witness the world-famous parade as temples do not hold this often and in such grand magnitude.
It happened that we got married on April 23, one of only 4 auspicious dates in April. Being a lucky date, ceremonies are therefore held on or around it.
