tubig init

Let me tell you about the story of 5 "vicious" dogs. Notorious of having bitten at least 2 strangers, they scare everyone. The problem is, the bathroom is separated from the house and can only be accessed through the yard where these guard dogs roam.

There is one technique to chase them away though. Just shout "Tubig init!". When they were young, their owner used to splash them with hot water whenever they get too unruly, with an accompanying scream "Tubig init!" (Hot water!). Strange, funny but true. Pavlovian techniques work!

love this image ..but think pouring hot water on a dog is hideous .. your idea of feeding them bread shows so much more compassion and wisdom, farl..

i love dogs, and the thought of splashing hot water on them makes my heart cry, especially when done to puppies... i prefer the gentler, loving bread-feeding way way much better...
    beautiful shot, though... :)

great story! great photo! i guess the true mark of a good photographer is his(or her) being trigger-thrifty? (as opposed to being trigger-happy, like me! i end up with a lot of shots of the same thing. bad bad habit. must emulate farl! Ü)

thanks for your comments. the conversations you provide are a delight.

I also don't like the concept of splashing hot water on dogs.

After discovering this photo and making it my favourite, I put my son to bed and trying to make him sleep. He was resisting my effort. For some reason, the word "tubig init" came to my mind, and I just yelled that at the top of my lung, in the darkness of our bedroom. It actually made him laughed so hard. In the end, he got so tired and we both went to sleep.
