Mom's Salad Dressing

I was running short of bottled salad dressing and I thought of the staple Mom made at our house growing up- homemade Russian dressing done up with mayonnaise and ketchup.

I tossed in some extras Mom did not- some hot sauce and jerk spice.

Those are serious extras, Mister Dog.

    And how did it taste?

Hey, its all my friends from Vermont!

@bgblogging - it tasted yummy, just like Mom never made. I think she may have used Cocktail sauce in place of or with the ketchup.

Honestly, just the catsup and mayo do quite fine. I cannot resist playing with the chemistry set that is my spice cabinet.

When I think of Russian dressing, I picture myself as a kid, in a restaurant, with a big wedge of iceberg lettuce in front of me smothered in the stuff, and I'm trying hard to behave and not put my finger in it and lick it. Skip the lettuce, I thought, just serve me the dressing!
