2017/365/363 A Storied Magnifier
I was struggling to read the small serial number on the back of my old laptop. While there is no magnifier glass in the house I remembered the one I keep in my truck.
When I pulled it out, the memory streams commenced. You see, I carried this around back when I was a Geology student in the late 1980s. I used it to look closely at specimens in the field. The red cord is an old hiking boot lace. It's still around some 35+ years later.
But wait, there is more. The magnifier itself was a small gift, one of many, from my great Aunt Bebe-- she gave it to me to examine the stamps she got me started collecting. And that would be like 45+ years ago.
I keep small things, that are tied, like a red lace, to large memories over time.
