Tempe Sun, Setting

    Newer Older

Finally, another of the many images I took on a photo stroll at Tempe Town Lake early in June. The warm glow was just delightful in the early evening as the sun was setting. This one is best viewed large and I liked the composition with repeating forms.

This is fantastic! Light, angles, crop, and all...

Overlapping bridge forms with that light, and a bonus... Camelback in the distance! Very, very cool!

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called The Coolest Cool Photographers on Flickr, and we'd love to have your photo added to the group.

Excellent caputre. Love the framing with its shadows and highlights - very creative. Perfect DOF to have everything in focus. Wonderful work!!!

I keep looking at this image and trying to figure out a response. It is striking but not fit for an unstudied response.

I like it. I like the colors. I like the geometrics. I like how there is a distinct contrast between the warm supports and the cool and precise landscape that they frame. The bounce between lights and darks reminds me of a pinball machine...rhythmical, cheerful. A picture within an abstract. It is a pleasant picture.

Thanks for your comments, all! I especially appreciate your thoughts, rusty_tripod, for this is precisely what makes me think alot about the image too. The composition is just right, and yet it took me much play with Photoshop to bring forth the bright lights and lighten up the shadows to get across what I saw that day. It's a complicated image, and the rhythms of the repeated forms and planes are the pleasure for me. This is another of those photos where I intensely wish to own a dSLR camera to capture in one shot what it is that I see.
