Palm Frond, Claypool, AZ

    Newer Older

I've driven by the church in Claypool several times, wanting to stop to photograph a magnificent palm tree that dominates the front yard. It is about 30 feet tall, but it is nearly as wide as that. The fronds hang down almost to the ground. Each frond is about 12 feet long. This is a close view of one of them. A better photo of the whole tree is in my stream and the set on Palms. Here is the photo I like the best to show the setting for it at the front door of a tiny church.

harvestmoon, Gerhard Singer, and 19 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Thanks for visiting, y'all! I was so glad to see that the subtle sheen did show up in the images. I've got at least six more to work with and upload (of these palm fronds and the whole palm tree). One decision to make will be to upload the largest size/resolution or stay with the 800 pixels wide. I notice that if I upload the 1800 pixel wide versions then they look not so good in the image size that is within the photo stream. Ideas?

      Wonderful capture of the pattern.

Load the large size(s) and link to them in captions.

Here's the big boy in almost full view. As close as I could get considering I would have had to be out on the highway to get more of it in frame:

Thanks y'all for coming by to visit! I'm so glad others liked this view too. Sometimes I just never know if I am going to be the only one who likes some of this odd macros I've been trying.

Enjoyed your 'colour directory' set.....love the idea, as I love working with colour. (However, I picked out this one which caught my attention specially!)
