Palo Verde Beetle, Mandibles

I broke out the macro lens tonight and tried some shots in the dark, handheld, of this gigantic beetle on a log section near my front door. The large view shows the detail in the eyes and much more detail than I could see with the naked eye. The next photo shows the entire insect, linked here.
