Kit Carson Monument (Santa Fe, New Mexico)

Kit Carson Monument in front of the U.S. Courthouse in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. The obelisk was erected in 1884 by the Grand Army of the Republic. It honored Christopher "Kit" Carson - a veteran of the Mexican-American War and the Civil War. The monument in included in the Santa Fe U. S. Courthouse listings on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties (HPD 874) and on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP No. 73001152).
