Pripyat - Music School

On April 26, 1986 the worst nuclear disaster in history took place at the Chernobyl NPP.

27 years later, the 30km exclusíon zone surrounding the power plant is still one of the most radioactively contaminated areas in the world and will remain uninhabitable for the foreseeable future.

 

Pripyat is a city situated about 3km from the reactor, built in 1970 to house the workers and their families. The soviet model city, once home to 50.000 people, was abandoned shortly after the disaster. Nature is slowly taking back the derelict buildings in this eerie ghost town.
