A lot of islands in the Maldives offer a 'sunset cruise' excursion. Although this might not seem like everyones cup of tea, including me, the first time I went on one I was very pleasantly surprised.
The guys take you out on a Dhnoi - a Maldivian design for a boat - and take you on a slow journey near your island to see a real powerful sunset. On the way, the guys constantly look out for dolphins that often play in the water at this time of night. Once the dolphins are spotted, the boat sails over to them and encourages them to play at the bow of the boat.
Altogether it is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience and I recommend anyone to go on one.
Unfortunately it was quite cloudy on the trip which meant that the sun was not that visible, luckily for me though, it provided a dramatic sky line with all the different colours in the clouds. The other boat visible here is another sunset cruise from another tourist island, they like us, were following the dolphins, allowing people on the boats to take photographs. The other boat shown is also a Dhoni, which has the roof made available for people to stand and sit on.
