Collage/Paint Study - MMX
Pencil, Charcoal, Ink, Cut and Pasted Mi Teintes Paper, Acrylic
Last year I did a series of images which were intented to shake up a certain complacency I was feeling in my usual drawing and painting routine. I worked from models, cups and jugs on my studio table. I enjoyed the relief from any obligations toward verisimilitude in representing real objects in space. The work forayed into abstraction at times, but always with a "handle" on the pitcher, so to speak, meaning retaining some solid footing in the real world of the seen from which I felt free to improvise and invent with a variety of new materials.
