Magnifico! 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale Prototipo
Long overdue recognition as one of the finest exotic road cars of all time. This sensational car was designed by Franco Scaglione and built by the Italian coachbuilders Carrozzeria Marazz. Just 18 were made. It is based on the Autodelta Alfa Romeo T33 race car. A sort of McLaren F1 of it's day, the Tipo 33 was the most expensive car on sale at the time. The less powerful road going version of the (race car derived) 2-litre V8 engine was good for 230BHP. Designed by Carlo Chiti, the 4-cam twin spark unit has SPICA fuel injection, 4 ignition coils and would rev to 10,000 rpm! This exotic car also has a 6 speed transaxle gearbox. Car is just 39 inches high and weighs only 700KG. Performance was 0-60mph in 5.5 secs, with a top speed of around 160mph. This fantastic car is just so completely Italian. Magnifico!
