#S26 My portrait work in the past has always been using natural light. I like the contrast and the subtle effects when used with reflectors. I have access to studio lighting; a two head Elinchrom setup with softboxes. Softboxes create a much softer lighting so was keen to give it a try.
I have been wanting to work with Alex again and she was very enthusiastic when I talked things over. Having run out of available helpers and Alex suffering a headache it a bit early morning to go for the original start. Having turned my house from a bomb-site into a tidy environment with rubbish taken to the local rubbish tip it was now time to transform it further into a studio. My house is rather small but I managed. It is a long time since I have spent a whole day using one model and had forgotten how much fun it was. Alex was great and we got on so well throughout. Each little change of clothing resulted in something interesting. What I like is someone who has the ability to change their face to match the clothes, scene or props. So the day progressed with lunch out and Alex cheekily getting a free face makeover at the local Pharmacy. It was not until Alex had been dropped off home and I sat in a chair I realised how much energy I had used up. Exciting photography always gets the adrenalin running. With a card reader we were able to check each set of photos and we both learned. I hope you agree with the both of us that it was a successful day with some gorgeous images.
Fantastic job Alex!!!!
