In the rain

Uh...
I couldn't think of a non-cheesy title.

Anyway, this is Cam. Whos been my friend since grade school, best friend since highschool and is now premoted to boyfriend. Since, err, about a month ago. :) Things are going swimmingly. He will even get soaked in the rain for the sake of a few pictures.

I love the one of you being swung too! I think I'm too heavy for Tom, haha.

I love the post processing of this photo, the effect brings out the rainy day essence of the photo, and also the cute couple :)

I've been trying to get a blue tone/effect like this for a while and if you don't mind me asking I was just wondering how you did it, if you don't want to share that's totally understandable, just thought I'd ask

    Thankyou :)

Of course I'd share! I use a program called Photoscape and it's free to download off of their website which I totally recommend because it has a lot of useful and simple tools but it is can be done on photoshop as well if you have that and don't want to download anything.

I did a few things to get the blue tone
I used "fade colour" and chose a grey-ish-blue-purpley colour
then "colourize" at around 7% and chose a blue tone and lowered the saturation just a tad.
Lastly I used the preset "film effects" which are wonderful... here I think I chose agfa on high and cross processed on low.

    Hopefully this helps :)

I'm a big fan of the tones you've used -- gives it an antiquish-slash-emotional-slash-gritty feel to the picture

Hi Nicki! Just letting you know that I featured your photo on my website. A woman posted her story about her first taste of love. And her kissy moment happened out in the rain – just like your adorable photo. Thanks so much for sharing!

Love this photograph, Nicki. Great use of a situation, and a lack of direct available light to create a storytelling mood.
