Please view: 'German Quality' On Black
This old car was one of the sights on a phototour I took with some other photographers from a photoclub I joined a short while ago. We drove to Germany for a day of making photos and sharing tips.
The owner of the car appeared in the window as we were carefully removing a modern ladder from behind the car, so that it wouldnt be a distraction in this photo where everything was so old except that ladder. He didnt like it at all!! He was shouting at us, that it was rude and impossible of us to just do that, so I tried to explain to him that we just moved it and would put it back exactly where it was, and that we were sorry to cause any trouble. We just wanted to make some nice photos of this beautiful old car. He still didnt seem to like the idea but didnt do anything about it luckily.
Behind the car you might still see the front windshield of an old Volkswagon "Hippy" Bus in the shed. The owners house had a sign on the front saying: "Werkstatt" which means workshop. Seems he still had a lot of work to do :)
Update:Thanks to "H.-D.N." I now know that this is a FRAMO! built until 1957 in Hainichen and Frankenberg (near Karl-Marx-Stadt - now re-named Chemnitz). The owner apparently liked other car brands as well as he attached an old Opel sign to the hood of the car, and also an old Morris Minor sign, just above the windshield (thanks to Kierant for finding that out.)
