Riding on a Jump
Vacation in tropics is over, and I'm bracing for some snow. How much winter we've got left, eh?
I found reading this book helped to alleviate 'somewhat turbulent adjustment back to realities of our northern country :)
Flight on the Toronto-Calgary leg was totally sold, and, as we flew 'stand-by', the whole experience turned out to be 'nerve-tickling'. One (just one!) guest out of 160 for some reason didn't show up for departure, and thus Victoria got her seat in the back. I for myself wasn't going to make any fuss about the only opportunity to fly - take a jump seat on a flight deck.
Oh, those ol' good glorious days!
Read 'Airport' by Arthur Hailey (he lived in Canada for long enough to get a solid expertise on 'how to cope with winter hardships..)
