"The Battle of Cable Street"

A still from my father's cine films, taken on the 4th October 1936, when Oswald Mosley tried to march with his blackshirts through the streets of East London. Their way was blocked by 300,000 anti-fascists. Dad said he was nearly arrested when he climbed up a lamp-post to film the events.
