University of Chicago Quadrangle

From I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves on last night's photo walk. The weather was perfect. We were able to get into many of the buildings on campus. Unfortunately, they closed Rockefeller Chapel early and Bond Chapel was not open. But there were many other places that were open. They were especially accommodating at the Harper Reading Library, allowing a few people at a time to go up into the loft.

I had a few people email me that they couldn't make it (life gets in the way), but we still had a strong showing of great photographers. In all, 28 people made it for the walk. Many thanks to Matt Frankel for leading us on the tour. Thanks to everyone that showed up and made the night a lot of fun for everyone.

Photo Contest:

I wanted to give some incentive to people to post their favorite images to one place so that we could see them. So I'm running a little photo contest for the pictures from last night. Copy and paste your favorite photos from the night (up to three) to the OutofChicago Flickr group's discussion thread for the contest. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to Justin (BigCatChicago) has already started it off with a bang. I originally said that the contest would run until March 17th, but I'll give you until Sunday night, the 18th. The winners will be announced later that week.

If you missed out on last night's adventure, and would like to visit the campus on your own, you may want to download the guide that I passed out at the walk last night. And if you did miss out, I hope to see you on our next walk.
