The Oriel Staircase at the Rookery Building

    Newer Older

This is a shot that I've been trying to get for a long time. I have tried numerous times to get into the Rookery with no success. Read how you can get into the famous Rookery building in one of my first posts on my new website, www.OutofChicago.com. cjsmithphotography.com/2011/11/19/the-rookery-tour-of-the...

That is a brilliant shot Chris! The lines and light create an incredible sense of depth. I'm gonna have to check out this website of yours now. Sounds cool!

Great photo. Looks like a seashell sort of symmetry. Love the way the lines carry you thru the photo. Love everything about the photo.

Pretty sure I saw this on the Stuck on Earth App - maybe in the Top 50 curated on the city of Chicago. Nicely done!

Probably. I was the one that curated the gallery and this was one of my shots that I included.

I took a similar shot at the Rookery one day while the security guard was yelling up to me that no photos were permitted. I have since worked through some commercial real estate agents I know but have been unable to get permission to photograph the Oriel staircase. What is your secret to getting access. Great shot.

Thanks, Alan. It's not a secret at all. Check out the photo description. :) outofchicago.com/the-rookery-tour-of-the-oriel-staircase/

And if you search through the blog, you'll find a lot more "secrets" about Chicago photography. Good luck!
