A tree falls in Falls Church (04)

Thirty-six hours after a very strong storm, a large tree remained as it fell, pulling down power lines across Great Falls Street at Virginia Avenue, a mere 2 blocks from Falls Church City Hall. It would take 5 days before this tree would be removed, and power lines restored.

A derecho hit northern Virginia, Friday evening, 29 June 2012, with 5 deaths, temperatures in the upper 90s/low 100s, and a massive power outage.
